I need help...

So I was driving home from work last night, when I got pulled over. Ugh, great. The last thing I need right now is a speeding ticket and of course the cop is an jerk and gives me a ticket. Ok I get he’s probably not really an jerk, that’s just his job, but still. This wouldn‘t be such a big deal if my bank account was overflowing or if money grew on trees. But considering my idea of feeding the poor is buying myself some ramen noodles, this poses a problem. Now my insurance is going to skyrocket and I am back on probation. Yes, just what I wanted in life. Seriously speeding tickets are pointless, I never learn my lesson. You think I wouldn’t speed after this but I always find myself still speeding. After I get a ticket I am so conscious about how fast I am going, for like a week. Then after that I always find myself speeding again. Its not that I have a need for speed, I just space out when I’m driving and don’t pay attention to little details such as how fast I’m going. I think I need help or maybe its just time for me to buy a radar detector. Does anyone know of any good ones, that actually work, but that won’t clean out my wallet?

I have a radar dector because I'm also a Nonconformer, but like to be alerted before I get a ticket LOL . Beltronic's are a good brand, and you can find them online or at circuitcity.com or bestbuy.com (or you can go into their stores and ask the guys questions about them --- actually it has worked really well so far (no tickets!! in like 4 years),

but word to the wise -- if you are speeding and you are the only car for a mile or more in front of you BEWARE cops have a "sweet" thing called a LASER "beam" now and even with a radar dector it gives no prior warning. Here's a good example even with a nice radar dector: I had an old BF in high school who had a $300 radar dector, we were driving out on a old country road at night, and he was going about 85mph a car came over the hill and BAM the cop flipped on their radar and OUCH his ticket 85 in a 55 ... lucky he didn't go to jail! So just know radar dectors are AMAZING for a prior warning as long as you AREN'T ALONE on a road -- and the cop just is scanning the traffic. Otherwise it PAYS to PAY attention - even with an advance warning.
