A Bit More Misfortune

My crew and myself went to an 80's themed dance last thursday, and the only reason i thought of posting this story on the blog is because they called me tonight to go again and it reminded me. In preparation for this little adventure, I learned from the first time i had gone that it gets very heated in the club. I'm not a very big kid (which you will hear more regarding the subject in the next blog) so i don't perspire hardly, but it's still nice to be comfortable. So i dress accordingly, wearing basketball shorts and a somewhat 80's looking pastel polo to try to keep in the spirit of the theme. knowing i wouldn't be able to take anything in with me, i'm texting like mad on the way up so as to be content with the lost time i'm not spending texting. i'm pretty well addicted not gonna lie.

We get off the freeway and park on 5th south as close as we can get to the club. My buddy Jer expresses his enthusiastic outlook on his car being able to lock and roll up the windows this time as we park , cause the first time we went to the club we had to leave the driver's side window down because of kind of short in the electrical. Everyone starts to get out of the car while i'm still trying to get a couple texts off telling the ppl goodbye for the night. i finish up and set my phone down on the seat near my wallet as i get up to get out of the car and shut the door. We start to walk away, and jeremy stops, takes a look back at the car to give it one quick last overlook to make sure its ok to leave it while we're away. i stop too and take a look back. everything looks sound and secure, so we continue on walking downt the sidewalk.

The dance ended at 2 in the am. As we make our way outside, i try to pry my friends away from some guys we know that graduated from our high school the year before. they're a real class act of idiots, and on top of that, their drunk. I finally coax them away and we walk back to the car. We approach it and everything looks fine. We get a little bit closer and we notice the passenger window was down. everyone kind of worries a little bit, but when we got in to inspect, the interior seemed to be fine and undisturbed. Jeremy's cd receiver that's hanging halfway out and not even locked in the din is there and intact. All that was needed to successfully jack that would be to slide it out of the din in and snip the wires and you'd have a nice kenwood cd player. i get into the back seat and see my wallet. i look in it and see that my debit card and everything's still in it. So i allow my heart to settle, and i begin to look for my phone to indulge in a little texting. i looked everywhere in the back seat, it was nowhere to be found! I looked right where i put it and surrounding areas in the back. Under the front seats and down the sides of the seat- notta phone to be found. my friend calls it multiple times, and each time the call is ends after a different elapsed time. We try several more times but it just goes straight to my voice mail. The phone had been turned off, so someone definately had it. I was livid! I lost all my contacts, my 2 gig micro sd card with all my pictures, ringtones and videos on it. But worst of all, my damn phone! It costed me 350 ish dollars for the freaking upgrade, and now i have to spend another unexpected sum of money to state a claim to the insurance to get a new one. $ 50 I did not expect to spend on this, now is not going towards the new oakley's i wanted, nor is it going to get me an ipod. All i have left to say is wtf david blaine?!
